He was rocked by scandal and suffered major injuries in the prime of his career a decade ago. If Woods’ body had held up and he had been able to be as steadily competitive as he was in the first half of his career, he’d have upwards of 20 major championships – well past Jack Nicklaus’ record of 18.
After a stellar season, Stanford senior forward Christen Press won the Pac-10’s player of the year award yesterday, the second consecutive year a Stanford player has won the award. Cardinal head coach Paul Ratcliffe was also named Pac-10 coach of the year for the third consecutive season.
