The Stanford Daily is the independent, student-run newspaper of Stanford University. The Daily was originally founded as a small pamphlet known as The Daily Palo Alto in 1892 and has been a campus fixture ever since. A non-profit organization since 1973, The Stanford Daily is the trusted news source for the Stanford community and its 7,000 undergraduates, 9,000 graduate students, 12,000 faculty and staff and 221,000 alumni around the world.

The Daily’s website is updated 24 hours a day, seven days a week and makes its coverage accessible to not just the Stanford community, but also to alumni and other interested readers across the world.
Web ads complement print ads by appealing to different demographics and reaching additional members of the Stanford community who aren’t within the reach of the Palo Alto campus. Students frequently use our website as well, and hundreds have taken actions based on our web ads.

Free Daily Issues
The Stanford Daily’s broadsheet newspaper is produced and distributed daily during the academic year by a dedicated team of student journalists and support staff. It is provided for free to students, staff and faculty on campus, as well as to Palo Alto and other surrounding areas, such as Menlo Park, Los Altos, Mountain View, Atherton and Portola Valley.
Print ads in the newspaper can be published by fractions of pages or per column-inch. Color ads come with an additional charge. We can also accommodate classifieds and inserts.
The Daily’s special issues cover some of the most important events on campus each year. From the back-to-school edition and football issues in the fall to the commencement issue each spring, special issues come packed with feature content that captures the full attention of our readers.

The Stanford Daily currently offers two email digests for our readers that are the most effective way to have the latest headlines in Stanford news, sports, opinions, arts and blog writing delivered right to your inbox.
The Daily’s email digests are rapidly becoming the preferred method for our most loyal readers to access our latest content. In the past year, more than 100,000 articles on our website have been opened directly from either the Daily Digest or the Leland’s Digest.
Sponsorship of the email digest gives your business access to a group of active individuals who are deeply invested in the Stanford community.
Our Daily Digest comes out every morning and organizes all of the new content from that day into News, Sports, Opinions, Arts & Life, and The Grind headlines. It’s well-suited for our readers that want a general daily overview of what’s happening on campus, with the opportunity to click through to our site for more information about stories of interest.
Our Leland’s Digest is released on Mondays and features an engaging and entertaining rundown of the most important headlines from the previous week and why those stories matter, curated by our editorial staff. It’s well-suited for our readers that have some time to sit down and take a more in-depth dive into the stories that our editors want to highlight for you.

The Stanford Daily Magazine began in the 2016-17 academic year and publishes seven issues per year that contain some of our signature long-form journalism. The magazine is distributed on and off campus to places of high visibility and will be available as a premium digital experience to our network of readers.
Each magazine is centered around a feature story or a theme that ties the issue together. Previous magazine themes have included:

In the past, parents of graduating seniors and businesses that have hired into their ranks have combined to purchase up to 18 pages of advertisements in the yearbook.
The Daily works with the help and support of Student Activities and Leadership (SAL), the senior class presidents and other campus entities to bring you the Stanford Quad. It is packed with coverage of campus events, student group performances and activities, dorm life, athletics, academics and more.
The Quad Yearbook is not just a “senior book”; it’s a great keepsake for anyone. Not only will the book have many pictures of student groups, teams, clubs and events, but it’s also packed with event coverage of important milestones — new campus buildings, important activism movements, sports championships and more.
