For the fourth year in a row, Stanford women’s tennis left the Pac-12 Tennis Championships boasting the title of “champions.” The one-seed women’s team (22-1, 10-0 Pac 12) defeated two-seed UCLA (18-7, 8-2) in a 4-2 victory on Saturday with junior Emily Arbuthnott clinching the win for the Cardinal.
In a heartbreaking loss to No. 5 Georgia (6-0) on Monday morning in the semifinals of the ITA National Team Indoor Championships, the No. 1 Stanford women’s tennis team’s 25-match winning streak dating back to February 24, 2018 was finally broken. The Cardinal now has a season record of 5-1, and had taken down No. 18 LSU (4-0) and No. 6 Texas (4-3) on Friday and Sunday in the first round and quarterfinals before falling to Georgia in the semifinals on Monday.
