This report covers a selection of incidents from July 13 to July 20, as recorded in the Stanford Department of Public Safety Bulletin.

A series of bike thefts and medical emergencies occurred during this period. Bike thefts occurred at Lane Hall, Wilbur Hall, the School of Education and the Sterling Quad.

Tuesday, July 13

At 6:51 a.m. at the Center for Clinical Sciences Research, the reporting party received a threatening e-mail from an unknown person.

At 3:30 p.m., an injury, bike-vs.-pavement collision occurred on Lasuen Mall north of Escondido Mall.

Wednesday, July 14

It was reported that between 3 p.m. and 3:15 p.m. on July 13, two unknown suspects seen in the Stanford Field Sites may have been possession of firearms and may have fired the firearms in the area of Old Page Mill Road.

At the Black Community Services Center, an individual reported that she had received two fraudulent money orders on July 13 from an address in Florida.

Two individuals were arrested for stealing a victim’s unattended purse at Lagunita Court and taking items from within. Both were taken to the San Jose main jail and booked for grand theft.

Friday, July 16

In an incident that occurred between June 22 and 23, but was only reported on July 16, an unknown suspect stole the victim’s unattended backpack from Cubberley Auditorium inside the School of Education. The backpack contained, among other things, the victim’s passport.

At 1:45 p.m., on the corner of Campus Drive and Via Ortega, an individual was cited and released for driving without a license.

At 3:40 p.m., on the corner of Santa Teresa Street and Campus Drive, another individual was cited and released for driving without a license.

Saturday, July 17

At 9:20 a.m., on the corner of Campus Drive and Roth Way, the arrestee was transported to the San Jose main jail and booked for public intoxication.

At 1:45 p.m., the reporting party’s son found currency on the lawn of Koret Park. They turned it in, where it was booked as found property. The reporting party also put in a 90-day claim on the found items.

Sunday, July 18

At 6:40 a.m., the reporting party received an e-mail stating that the sender had been paid to kill her. Investigations proved that it was, in fact, a hoax.

At 8:05 a.m., in an event shrouded in mysterty, an unknown suspect, using unknown tools, stole unknown items from the victim’s vehicle parked in Parking Structure 6.

Monday, July 19

At 4:40 p.m., a non-injury, vehicle-vs.-fixed object collision occurred on the corner of Escondido Road and Comstock Circle.

Tuesday, July 20

Between 11 a.m. on July 12 and 8 a.m. on July 20, an unknown suspect broke the passenger side windows of two victims’ vehicles at Parking Structure 6 and stole their GPS systems.

At 1:45 p.m., an individual was cited and released on an outstanding warrant from Santa Clara County.

Between 4:30 p.m. and 4:45 p.m., another arrestee was transported to the San Jose main jail and booked on two outstanding warrants from Santa Clara County and San Mateo County.

In an incident that occurred between 5:30 p.m. on July 16 and 9 a.m. that was reported on July 19, an unknown suspect stole a medical instrument from an unlocked lab at the Medical School Lab Surge building.
