Last Saturday, the Cardinal cross country teams finished their seasons at the NCAA Championship in Louisville, with the No. 3 men faltered a bit en route to a 16th place finish, and the No. 4 women finding their way back to the podium with a third-place effort.
On Friday, the Cardinal men and women kept their seasons alive at the NCAA West Regional in Seattle, Washington. To qualify for the national championships, teams had to place in the top two slots at their regional meet or hope for one of the thirteen at-large bids. Stanford left nothing to chance, winning the men’s race and finishing as the runner-up in the women’s event.
Five individual titles highlighted a successful trip to the Pac-12 Championships for the Stanford track and field teams. The women placed second while the men tied for fifth, as host Oregon swept both titles.
