With Stanford University’s $112 million Bing Concert Hall set to open this Friday, many student musicians and dancers are questioning how student groups were selected to perform in the inaugural season.
With a budget of $110 million, the Bing Concert Hall is expected to combine acoustical excellence and intimacy with the adaptability necessary for the performing arts groups on campus.
Stanford Taiko performed Tuesday at the groundbreaking for the Bing Concert Hall, set to be built on Museum Way and completed in the summer of 2012.
