Ever since taking down No. 2 UCLA three weeks ago, the Stanford men’s water polo team has not looked back, riding its stellar defense and powerful offense to a seven-game winning streak. This weekend the success continued for the No. 4 Cardinal (17-4, 5-1 MPSF) as it cruised through its road trip to Southern California with wins against UC-Irvine, Chapman University and Long Beach State.
The No. 3 Stanford men’s water polo team saw its season come to an end when it fell to No. 2 UCLA 10-9 in sudden-death overtime of the MPSF Championship Third-Place Game on Friday.
The offensive fireworks continued this weekend for No. 3 Stanford (14-4, 4-2 MPSF) as it scored 18 goals on Saturday against UC-Davis before recording a season high of 24 goals on Sunday, trouncing Santa Clara 24-7.
