Fantasy baseball encapsulates an intense interest in something that does not exist and is shamelessly irrelevant. But it symbolizes something special to me, and maybe it is not so different from actual baseball.
As a Lakers fan, the Sacramento Kings at the turn of the millennium were the most terrifying team I had ever seen. But now it looks like the NBA is going to get rid of the entire franchise and ship it to Seattle. Sacramento deserves better than that.
