The members of Stanford’s softball class of 2013, in contrast to previous senior classes, have described themselves as not being the most vocal group of team leaders. Instead, the four seniors have relied upon their performance on the field to set the example for the rest of their teammates.
This year, Stanford softball will graduate a quartet of senior who have epitomized the quality of resiliency, overcoming tremendous challenges throughout their time on the Farm to achieve high levels of success both on and off the field. Over the next two days, The Daily will profile these four, starting with Teagan Gerhart and Tegan Schmidt today, and continuing with tomorrow’s installment on Jenna Rich and Sarah Hassman.

No. 18 Stanford rolled through the first two days of the Stanford Louisville Slugger Classic, going 4-0 against the competition to improve to 21-5 on the season. In the process, John Rittman reached an important milestone, as the longtime Cardinal head coach notched his 700th victory Friday night against Florida Gulf Coast with a 2-1 win.
