After a tough road series in Eugene, Ore. filled with numerous unfortunate breaks to begin Pac-12 play, Stanford responded in fine form on Thursday night against UCLA. In its Pac-12 home opener, the No. 15 Cardinal (23-8,1-3 Pac-12) scored five unanswered runs in the bottom of the first and second innings to pull away from the No. 12 Bruins (24-7, 1-3 Pac-12), 5-1.
After mustering only one run against Kentucky in its last game, No. 20 Stanford softball (5-2) had no trouble finding offensive rhythm at home on Wednesday night, taking down Santa Clara 8-0.
After taking four of its six games at the Kajikawa Classic this past weekend, the Stanford softball team looks to secure its first home victory of the 2013 campaign against Santa Clara tonight.
