The second annual Snowchella, hosted by Stanford Concert Network, Sigma Nu and Kappa Kappa Gamma, is this Friday at 9:30 p.m. on Sigma Nu’s front lawn.
Intermission flew out to Utah last week for the 27th Sundance Film Festival. While it’s pretty much impossible to watch all the films, we did manage to check out a couple.
But that is exactly what “Black Swan” does: it takes advantage of film as an art form, and the result of director Darren Aronovsky’s vision and efforts is, in a word, a masterpiece.
Duffy’s sophomore album, “Endlessly,” is a disappointment. Despite her distinct vocals, the album is itself undistinguished, and its few strong tracks cannot save the rest, which lull along, uninspired.
Saturday night was a seductive evening for anyone flirting with the arts scene at Stanford, as Student Organizing Committee for the Arts (SOCA) threw the ubiquitously named Arts Party at Elliott Programming Center.
Next Monday, high-energy punk band The Thermals will rock the Independent in San Francisco.
