As Bob Whitfield (left) prepared to depart for the NFL after three Cardinal seasons, he told The Daily that he would “shell out $20,000 for my last year to come back and go to school.” Tuition has gone up considerably since his last season in 1991, but Bob has fulfilled his promise, completing his degree just as his son Kodi (right) began taking classes and practicing with this year’s Stanford squad.
