In the days running up to the highly anticipated Pacific-10 Conference Championships, the Cardinal team had an action-packed weekend with two track meets — one across the Bay in Berkeley and one on its home turf at Cobb Track and Angell Field.

Card ready to defend title

In its last competition before this month’s NCAA Championships, Stanford women’s tennis didn’t capture any individual titles in singles or doubles action at the Pacific-10 Conference Championships in Ojai, Calif. However, the Cardinal did manage to accumulate more individual wins than any other Pac-10 school this past weekend.

At this moment, this alternative [...]

Ire and Vice: Fog over the water

Ire and Vice: Fog over the water

Lake Lag was a real lake in the winter of 2005. It was not very deep. You could walk straight through it, if you didn’t mind taking a disinfectant shower or suffering mutant syphilis. The water was dirty, but from the porch of Lambda Nu (before it was Jerry), all you could see was a [...]

Editorial: Reform the priority system

Editorial: Reform the priority system

This week, many students are eagerly awaiting to find out whether they got their priority preferences. Priority applications, due last Friday, range from short essays on particular house themes to language requirements and house visits. Yet, for many, priority becomes a way for students to game the system and secure desirable housing with an otherwise [...]
