In its weekly meeting, 19th Senate prepares for 20th

In its 25th meeting, the 19th Undergraduate Senate focused on the forthcoming transition to the new class of Associated Students of Stanford University (ASSU) representatives. Discussion covered a change to election rules that would allow campaigning to continue up through the voting period, a bill to institute Rosenberg’s Rules of Order in Senate meetings and a bill to allocate funding for the new Senate.

Senate addresses annual funding reductions, need-blind admission and CAPS

In its 24th meeting, 19th Undergraduate Senate addressed concerns regarding annual funding reductions on account of students’ waiving their activities fees. Senators also advocated for a need-blind admission policy for international students and more student input in the search for a new Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) director. The Senate also passed a resolution appointing Josie Bianchi ’20 to the ASSU Constitutional Council.
