Dining halls no longer offer take-out containers to students looking to take food to-go — and some dining halls now have signs that read: “To-go containers and Ziploc bags are not allowed.”
Catherine Criswell Spear, Stanford’s first Title IX coordinator, is stepping down from her post on Sept. 11. A former director of the Department of Education’s Office of Civil Rights (OCR) in Cleveland, she will be moving to the University of Virginia (UVA) as the new assistant vice president for equal opportunity programs.

The Stanford men’s tennis team fell on Saturday afternoon to top-ranked and undefeated Virginia in a gut wrenching confrontation that came down to the last match — a duel between two seniors. The No. 8 Cardinal laid it all out on the court early Saturday evening, but its best effort came up just short. UVA defeated Stanford 4-3 as the shadows were lengthening over the Taube Tennis Center.
