From the Farm to France: Three former Stanford players prepare for Women’s World Cup

The eighth FIFA Women’s World Cup is set to kick off this summer in France and run from June 7 to July 7. Games will be played in nine venues across the soccer-fevered country, which is the reigning FIFA Men’s World Cup championship. The stage is set now, however, for the world’s female stars to take the spotlight, and the United States — the reigning champion and 2-1 favorites to repeat — certainly has a target on its back.

Women’s soccer to play Gamecocks in College Cup semifinals

After four players — senior Andi Sullivan, junior Kyra Carusa, sophomore Tierna Davidson and freshman Catarina Macario — were nominated to the all-Pacific team on Tuesday, No. 1 Stanford women’s soccer (22-1-0, 11-0-0 Pac-12) travels to Florida this weekend to participate in its eighth college cup. The Cardinal kicks off with a game against No. 5 South Carolina (19-2-1) on Friday, and in case of victory will face the winner of No. 3 Duke and No. 4 UCLA on Sunday.
