Earlier this month, Stanford in Government (SIG) — the Haas Center-affiliated, non-partisan organization that is one of the largest student groups on campus — named economics major Olivia Martin ’19 as its Chair for the 2018-19 school year. The Daily sat down with Martin to discuss her history in SIG, her goals for the organization and its role in Stanford’s political climate.

After nearly calling it quits three times throughout the TreeHacks, all-sophomore team Recon was awarded “Most Technically Challenging Project” for their search and delivery hacks on consumer drones at the end of the weekend. The award was one of the three hackathon final prizes.
The natural hair movement is about acceptance of Black beauty in all shades and hair textures. It purposely ignores the white beauty standards and uplifts black beauty. It includes all of the women featured in the commercial, and it also includes the girls who weren’t featured in the commercial and felt invisible. They need to learn to accept their curls, kinks, and naps, too. It took me a while to accept mine.
