It was a successful weekend of home matches for Stanford tennis as the No. 4 ranked men’s team (17-2, 4-1 Pac-12) and the No. 23 ranked women’s team (12-3, 6-0 Pac-12) each came up with a victory at Taube Family Tennis Center. The men’s team swept No. 32 ranked Utah (19-4, 2-2) with a 4-0 score on Saturday afternoon while the women took down No. 26 ranked Oregon (12-8, 3-5) on Sunday, 6-1.
Stanford’s No. 3 ranked men’s tennis team (16-2, 3-1 Pac-12) split a road series versus No. 4 ranked UCLA (19-2, 4-0) and No. 14 USC (12-6, 3-1) this past weekend, falling to the Bruins Friday before taking down the Trojans on Saturday. The loss on Friday was only the Cardinal’s second of the season.
Both women’s and men’s tennis teams are in action this weekend. No. 1 women’s tennis (1-1) has its home opener on Friday at 1:30 p.m. against St. Mary’s (1-3) at Taube Tennis Center.

Both Stanford men’s tennis were on the road this weekend for final singles and doubles tournaments before the start of the dual matches next week. While the whole men’s roster competed in the Sherwood Cup, the women’s team split its quad between the NCTC Classic in Indian Wells and the Freeman Memorial Championships in Las Vegas.
Freshman standout Michaela Gordon is making a name for herself in her first months with the Stanford Cardinal. Teaming up with sophomore Emily Arbuthnott, the dynamic duo claimed victory in the doubles bracket of the Intercollegiate Tennis Association’s National Fall Championships.
On November 1st-5th, representatives from both the men and women’s tennis team will take part in the final tennis invitational event of the fall, the Intercollegiate Tennis Association’s National Championships. This exclusive tournament is open to only finalists and standouts from the ITA regional championships, and will take place at the Indian Wells Tennis Gardens near Palm Springs, California.
