At the 11th meeting of the 20th Undergraduate Senate, Senators discussed a bill that would replace the Cardinal Conversations program with a new program called “Deliberative Dinners.”
On Oct. 2, the Associated Students of Stanford University (ASSU) reintroduced the goals for its cabinet positions this year, with one of the positions being the newly created ASSU Director of Academic Freedom. Among the position’s stated goals is to work with University administration to ensure free exchange of ideas while making sure speakers invited by student groups uphold the Honor Code and Fundamental Standard.
These endorsements were made on the group’s Facebook page despite the fact that “using a student organization name to endorse a candidate” is included on a list of “prohibited political activities” on Stanford’s Student Activities and Leadership (SAL) website, and has been for the duration of SCR’s endorsement campaign.
