The Stanford Coalition for Planning an Equitable 2035 (SCoPE 2035) held several demonstrations across campus on Thursday to protest Stanford’s lawsuit against Santa Clara County’s housing ordinance.
The Palo Alto Unified school board will meet with a district attorney to discuss options for legal action on the impact of Stanford University’s proposed expansion plan on Tuesday.
The Palo Alto school board unanimously passed an anti-bias resolution on Jun. 19 in response to reports of racism and discrimination within the district. The resolution comes in the wake of concern from parents, community members and civil rights groups following a clash over the renaming of a middle school.
On Nov. 20, the Santa Clara County Board of Supervisors will vote on five proposals – one of which is backed by Stanford University – for spending $10.4 million in Stanford University funds, capping off a 12-year debate over the funding.
