“We can either settle for a country where a shrinking number of people do really well, while a growing number of Americans barely get by. President Barack Obama nominated political science professor Michael McFaul to the Russian ambassadorship, according to a White House press release. McFaul, a fellow at the Hoover Institution and the Freeman Spogli Institute for International Studies, is currently serving as the president’s top advisor on Russia at the National Security Council.
President Barack Obama traveled to California on Wednesday to discuss his deficit-reduction plan at Facebook’s Palo Alto headquarters and attend three Democratic fundraisers in San Francisco. The visit marked the middle of a three-day trip to Virginia, California and Nevada for the administration to sell its budget framework and for the president to raise money for his party and re-election campaign.
