Lacrosse falls to Colorado in MPSF semifinals

After routing Cal (5-13, 2-6 MPSF) 19-5 in the quarterfinals, Stanford women’s lacrosse (12-6, 6-2) ultimately couldn’t recover from a four-goal run in the final 10 minutes against second-seed Colorado (16-2, 7-1) losing by a final tally of 14-13 in the semifinals, ending their bid in the MPSF conference tournament in Los Angeles. Lacrosse finds success while returning home

After a recent tough slate, Stanford lacrosse (8-5, 3-1 MPSF) got the much-needed conference win against the Fresno State Bulldogs (8-6, 1-5 MPSF) in dominant fashion by scoring 10 unanswered goals to start the game and finishing with a 17-4 victory.

The Cardinal’s usual playmakers once again fully displayed their offensive powers as the likes of Kelsey Murray and Elizabeth Cusick led their team to an offensive blowout against conference opponent Bulldogs. Murray started the game remarkably, finding the back of the net 5 times in the opening 15 minutes to propel Stanford on its first half run that essentially ended the game before it started.

Men’s gymnastics strives for fifth MPSF title

When your team has won four MPSF titles, along with four NCAA Championships, you have big shoes to fill. Stanford men’s gymnastics is feeling exactly this, as they head into the MPSF Championships this Saturday at 2 p.m. The team will travel across the bay to Berkeley, where they will shoot for their fifth MPSF title (their other four being in 1993, 1995, 2009 and 2011).

Men’s water polo heads south for MPSF Championship

No. 6 Stanford men’s water polo (12-6, 4-5 MPSF) will travel down to Los Angeles this weekend to take on No. 1 UCLA (24-1, 2-1), No. 2 USC (20-1, 3-0), No. 3 Cal (18-3, 1-2) and Penn State Behrend (0-23, 0-0) in the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) Championship Tournament hosted by UCLA. Games will begin Friday at 10 a.m. with Stanford taking on Penn State Behrend before facing USC in the afternoon.
