The men’s swimming and diving team concluded its season at the NCAA Championships in Austin, Texas over the break. Affected by injuries, the team finished in 15th place. Despite the less than ideal finish, 11 swimmers and divers combined for 17 All-America honors, and senior Abrahm DeVine captured another individual title for the Cardinal.
The men’s swimming and diving team will be competing for the final time this year at the NCAA Championships in Austin, Texas from Wednesday to Saturday.
The No. 7 Cardinal continued to drop time at the Pac-12 Men’s Swimming Championship with the conclusion of the third day of competition. The Cardinal have held onto their second-place standing going into the final day of the championships.
Despite an inspired performance from freshman Jack LeVant, the No. 7 men’s swimming and diving team fell in their regular season finale to No. 1 California. The final score of 172-122 belied the dominance Cal showed in the meet.
On Saturday afternoon, the No. 7 Stanford men’s swimming and diving team (5-0, 4-0 Pac-12) swam for the final time at Avery this year, smashing No. 9 USC (4-2, 2-2).
Tomorrow at noon, the Stanford men’s swimming and diving team (4-0, 3-0 PAC-12) will celebrate their senior class as the team competes in their final home meet of the year against No. 10 USC (4-0, 2-0). The seventh-ranked Cardinal will be racing in their first meet since they swept the Arizona schools two weeks ago.
Last weekend, eighth-ranked Stanford’s men’s swimming and diving team concluded a four-day invitational at University of Texas. The meet did not keep score, which gave coaches the freedom to test swimmers in different events. The Cardinal (1-0, Pac-12 1-0) left Texas with finalists who earned NCAA B-cuts in every event.
This weekend the men’s (1-0, 1-0 Pac-12) and women’s (1-0, 1-0) swim teams are gearing up for away meets. This Friday the women will face the Washington State Cougars (1-0) in Pullman, Washington. The following day the men will be swimming at an invitational meet in Stockton, California with the University of the Pacific.
