Student-built art studio hopes for a place on campus

A team of Stanford students built a small, portable arts studio using materials found at Jasper Ridge over the summer as part of an Arts Intensive. They have big dreams for the studio, because it has the potential to be a new, separate arts space for student artists to retreat to and create art. The student propose keeping it on campus during the fall and winter and moving it to the Jasper Ridge Biological Preserve for spring and summer quarters.

Stanford’s Bing Concert Hall announces opening performance line-up

The University announced Tuesday the list of musical performers who will first grace Stanford’s Bing Concert Hall after it open its doors on Jan. 11, 2013. The San Francisco Symphony, Philharmonia Baroque Orchestra, Los Lobos and the St. Lawrence String Quartet will all play in a series of ticketed and free performances during the concert hall’s opening week, according to a University press release.
