No. 3 women’s volleyball (7-3, 1-1 Pac-12) travels to Oregon this weekend, facing the No. 25 Ducks (5-6, 1-1) on Friday and the Beavers (8-5, 2-0) on Saturday. The Oregon State game will end a nine-game streak of ranked opponents for the Cardinal.
No. 1 women’s volleyball (7-3, 1-1 Pac-12) suffered its third loss in five games on Sunday evening, dropping a 4-set contest to No. 8 Washington (10-2, 1-1 Pac-12). The 17-25, 25-18, 15-25, 16-25 match was Stanford’s worst performance of the year, as the offense hit .111 while the Huskies hummed at a .288 clip.
Despite a shaky start, top-ranked women’s volleyball (7-2, 1-0 Pac-12) put away No. 21 Cal (10-1, 0-1 Pac-12) in four sets, starting 2019 conference play on the right foot. The win in Haas Pavilion marked Stanford’s 15th-straight Big Spike win and 69th overall.
The rout was led, as expected, by senior outside hitter Kathryn Plummer. The reigning AVCA Player of the Year put away 16 kills on 29 attempts with just four errors for a hitting percentage of .414. She additionally tallied seven digs and a block on the defensive side of the net.
