Thank you, Senator Matthew Wigler, and the whole of the 20th Undergraduate Senate for passing the recent Resolution to Better Serve Veterans at Stanford. Your unanimous vote affirming student veterans is momentous and reflects great credit on the character and culture of the Senate and students it represents. Your comprehensive resolution, if acted upon, will increase meaningful diversity, enrich the education of all students, and ensure veterans become a more visibly valued component of Stanford’s extraordinary community.

At the 11th meeting of the 20th Undergraduate Senate, Senators discussed a bill that would replace the Cardinal Conversations program with a new program called “Deliberative Dinners.”
In its 10th meeting, the 20th Undergraduate Senate reported on multiple Senator’s personal projects, including proposals to establish a First Generation and Low-Income (FLI) dormitory and community center as well as to create a successor to the Cardinal Conversations program.
In its 27th meeting, the 19th Undergraduate Senate focused on the transition to its newly elected 20th Senate. The Senate also discussed a proposed bill regarding speakers invited to campus by student groups.
