Cardinal win out in clash of undefeated teams

It was a battle of the undefeateds on Friday night between No. 1 Stanford and No. 11 Oregon, with both teams coming in with team records of 12-0 and Pac-12 records of 2-0. And in that battle, it was No. 1 Stanford that ultimately consolidated its top ranking and maintained its undefeated winning streak Friday night against the Ducks.

Women’s volleyball completes second consecutive Pac-12 sweep

No. 1 Stanford women’s volleyball (12-0) head coach John Dunning recently intimated that this year’s team has yet to reach its full potential. Dunning is usually candid about his team and their performances, and quite often spot on. If he’s even a little bit right, the sky is the limit for this Cardinal volleyball team. And as of Friday night, the sky hardly seemed like a barrier for the Cardinal in their three-set sweep of Washington State (25-21, 25-9, 25-20).

Bridging the gap to China: Bugg and Howard reflect on All-Star experience

Bugg and Howard were two of 12 Pac-12 All-Stars selected to represent the conference against Chinese teams, mixed in with players from every Pac-12 school except for Oregon State. It was a big adjustment to make both on the field and personally — the other players were opponents on rival teams during the regular season — but the girls got over the unfamiliarity pretty quickly.
