Baseball sweeps Washington State in regular season finale

No. 9 Stanford baseball (40-14, 21-9 Pac-12) left no doubts as to why it is the hottest team in the country, sweeping Washington State (24-29, 10-20) and outscoring the Cougars 33-6 in its final regular season series. With the win, the Cardinal secured a 40-win season, marking the 21st time that a Stanford team has reached this milestone during the 41-year tenure of head coach Mark Marquess.

Stanford avoids sweep with a comeback victory against No. 8 Fullerton

After dropping its season opener in a close 0-1 game against No. 8 Cal State Fullerton (2-1), No. 23 Stanford men’s baseball (1-2) split the final two games of the weekend series against the Titans in its first road trip of the season. After dropping the second match 1-8, the Cardinal earned their first victory of the young season on Sunday after staging a dramatic extra-inning comeback on Sunday to record a 7-6 win.
