Coming off an emotional series against Texas that featured two consecutive walk-off wins, No. 16 Stanford baseball (11-5) split a four-game set against Rice (6-11) in Houston over the weekend.

Despite securing a win on Saturday, the Cardinal pitchers were unable to stymie the Utes’ hot bats and surrendered 19 runs across three games. After splitting the first two games, Stanford dropped the rubber match, resulting in its second-ever series loss to Utah.
