The alleged drugging of several Stanford students by a non-Stanford student at the Sigma Chi fraternity house in January has motivated some Row houses to institute new practices to prevent future drugging incidents. Others, however, have not made such changes.
Finding romance on campus isn’t just for students. Sal Cruz, personal chef to Delta Delta Delta (Tri Delt), and Fabi Cruz, personal chef to Pi Beta Phi (Pi Phi), have a love story of their own that started here at Stanford nine years ago.
All Stanford student-athletes are inherently very versatile people, as they must consistently meet the rigorous demands associated with both their Stanford educations and their athletic careers. However, after having spent the last three years around the Stanford softball program, it is clear to me that Erin Ashby takes such versatility to a new level. As a two-year starter for the Cardinal, Ashby has been called upon to play at catcher, second base, first base, hit in the designated player spot and even pitch in the circle.
Following conversations with leaders in both fraternities and sororities, Residential Education (ResEd) plans to launch a new class this spring for new pledges in the Greek community. Plans to implement an educational component to the pledging process were initially met with complaints by members of the Greek community because of a cited lack of communication with ResEd.
