A dangerous rift is forming between what technology enables and what law enforcement needs. Thus, we must reconcile our protective instincts towards our personal data with our protective instincts towards ourselves and our country.
As students in the Silicon Valley it is difficult for us to conceive of a world in which innovation is not rewarded. However, without sufficient action to deter economic espionage, this will increasingly be the reality we face.
Stanford could have the most foolproof security systems in the world, but, at the end of the day, the weakest links are people like you and me. I’m here to offer an alternative to what Stanford is doing now: Let’s spend more time phishing ourselves.
