Pompeo, Mattis to make campus appearance this week

Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and Secretary of Defense James Mattis will come to campus this week. The two members of Trump’s cabinet will host their Australian counterparts Minister for Foreign Affairs Julie Bishop and Minister for Defence Marise Payne for the annual Australia-U.S. Ministerial (AUSMIN) Consultations discussing bilateral security, cooperation and regional political issues.

Q&A: Sarah Lyons-Padilla, researcher at Center for Social Psychological Answers to Real-World Questions

Sarah Lyons-Padilla is a Stanford researcher in the Department of Psychology’s Center for Social Psychological Answers to Real-World Questions (SPARQ). She is currently studying the marginalization of Muslim immigrants at risk for radicalization. Her research—particularly timely after this summer’s string of terror attacks—aims to redirect current preventive approaches to terrorism that focus on military and security measures.
