Men’s basketball to host Arizona

Having lost the first two matches against Pac-12 opponents this season, Stanford men’s basketball seeks vengeance in today’s game against the Arizona Wildcats (11-4, 2-0 Pac-12). Just as we brace for a season of seemingly endless rain, the Cardinal is bracing for a tough match against formidable opponents – the Wildcats come off of a four-game winning streak, most recently clinching an overtime victory against Utah (7-7, 1-1 Pac-12).

Men’s basketball out-muscles the Portland State Vikings

Last night, in their first home contest since their season opener against Seattle, the Stanford men’s basketball team (4-3) claimed a hard-fought victory against Portland State (3-3) by a score of 79-67. A close contest characterized by turnovers and personal fouls, Stanford finally pulled away with eight minutes remaining in the second half, thanks to strong performances from the entire team.

‘Heels defeat hoopsters: Stanford men’s basketball falls to UNC

Stanford men’s basketball (2-1, 0-0 Pac-12) faced a nearly impossible challenge on Monday night, when they were asked to step into the Dean Smith Center in Chapel Hill, North Carolina and take on the No. 7 ranked North Carolina Tar Heels (3-0). After a first half in which the Cardinal were manhandled, solid adjustments let Stanford remain competitive in the second period, and cut into the UNC lead. Ultimately, the effort was not enough, and Stanford fell, 90-72.
