What I want to contribute to campus dialogue about this upcoming spring election cycle is my experience working with Shanta while I was ASSU Executive, and why I believe Shanta is the leader and person Stanford deserves to have as its next student body president.
In its 25th meeting, the 19th Undergraduate Senate focused on the forthcoming transition to the new class of Associated Students of Stanford University (ASSU) representatives. Discussion covered a change to election rules that would allow campaigning to continue up through the voting period, a bill to institute Rosenberg’s Rules of Order in Senate meetings and a bill to allocate funding for the new Senate.
The Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) presented its annual Turing Award to former Stanford President John Hennessy in honor of his work designing efficient computer architectures that advanced the microprocessing industry.

Jeff Raikes ’80, co-founder of the Raikes Foundation and a member of the Stanford University Board of Trustees since 2012, has been elected to serve as the chair of the board. His term will begin July 1.
