After phenomenal showings at the Pac-12 conference championship and the NCAA championship, freshman Taylor Ruck was named the Pac-12 Swimming Freshman of the Year and classmate Carolina Sculti was tabbed for the Pac-12 Diving Freshman of the Year.
For the third straight year, the women’s swimming and diving team has captured the Pac-12 conference title, marking the first three-peat since Arizona from 2006-08. The 1,775 point victory was the third highest score in the history of the meet, and it fell just 1.5 points short of last year’s performance.
On Sunday, the women’s swimming and diving team returned to the Farm from their successful campaign at the Ohio State University Invitational. The Cardinal (2-0, Pac-12 2-0) are ranked second in the nation, and they proved it with a convincing win over ten other schools. Through 21 events Stanford accumulated 2499 points to best No. 13 Notre Dame, who had 2011.5 points, and No. 18 Kentucky at 1898 points.
Stanford women’s swimming and diving team (1-0, Pac-12 1-0) easily triumphed over Utah (0-1, 0-1) to the tune of 193-99 in Tuesday’s first dual meet of the season.
