Men’s swimming aims to continue Cardinal momentum in conference championships

After Cardinal divers did their part for the overall total last weekend, No. 5 Stanford men’s swimming (4-1, 3-1 Pac-12) now begins their contribution towards the Cardinal’s Pac-12 title defense in this weekend’s championship tournament in Washington.

The four-day tournament commences on Wednesday evening with the 200 and 800 meter relay finals. After the beginning evening, the tournament follows an 11:00 a.m. preliminary then 6:00 p.m. final pattern for the next three days, finishing on Saturday evening with the 1,650 free (final heat), 200 back final, 100 free final, 200 breast final, 200 fly final, and last but not least 400 free relay final.

Men’s swimming takes a close loss to end the regular season

On Friday, No. 11 Stanford men’s swimming (4-1, 3-1) dropped their first dual met of the season against No. 2 national title hopefuls UC Berkeley (5-0, 4-0) in the team’s final match before the men’s Pac-12 Diving championships. In a highly competitive meet, the Cardinal fell by a tight score of 136-105 that left head coach Tedd Knapp feeling excited about his team’s momentum pushing forward.
