The Stanford men’s and women’s tennis teams take on top opponents this weekend after a week of preparation back on campus.
With victories in all seven matches today against the unranked Princeton Tigers (2-2), the No. 1 Stanford women’s tennis team pitched its third consecutive dual match shutout to kick off the 2019 season.
No. 1 Stanford (2-0) will host a pair of dual matches this week before heading to Seattle for the ITA National Team Indoor Championship next Friday.
The Stanford men’s and women’s tennis teams captured two season dual match wins each during ITA Kick-Off Weekend at Taube Tennis Stadium on Saturday and Sunday. Both teams will move on to the ITA National Team Indoor Championships in Chicago next month.

In a tournament that was fittingly played at the Taube Family Tennis Stadium on Stanford’s campus over the past few days, the Cardinal women’s tennis team swept the singles and doubles draws of the ITA Women’s Northwest Regional Championships in tough-fought matches on Tuesday afternoon.
This past weekend, women’s tennis players from across the Pacific Northwest competed at the Taube Family Tennis Stadium on Stanford’s campus. This was the twelve straight time the stadium hosted the event. Players were eligible to compete in the tournament after earning a bid from a prior qualifying tournament. Cal, Cal Poly, Eastern Washington, Fresno State, Gonzaga, Oregon, Pacific, Portland, Sacramento State, Saint Mary’s, San Francisco, San Jose State, Santa Clara, Seattle and UC Davis were all represented at this championship.
