No. 13 beach volleyball (2-5, 2-0 Pac-12) opens its first home stand of the year with a full weekend.
Last weekend, No. 13 Stanford beach volleyball (2-5, 2-0 Pac-12) earned its first victories of the season at the Pac-12 South Invitational hosted by Arizona. The Cardinal split Saturday, defeating Oregon (0-3, 0-2 Pac-12) and then dropping the duel to No. 2 USC (4-1, 1-0 Pac-12). The Cardinal returned to form on Sunday to defeat No. 14 Arizona (4-2, 1-2 Pac-12), picking up their first ranked win.
This weekend, No. 12 beach volleyball (0-4, 0-0 Pac-12) will travel to Bear Down Beach at the University of Arizona to square up against No. 2 USC (1-1, 0-0 Pac-12), Oregon (0-0, 0-0 Pac-12) and the host No. 14 Wildcats (3-0, 0-0 Pac-12) in the Pac-12 South Invitational. Saturday and Sunday will give the Cardinal their first look at the rest of the conference — aside from No. 1 UCLA (6-0, 0-0).
No. 11 beach volleyball (0-4) faced a tough start to their season last weekend, dropping all four of its matches in the Outrigger Duke Kahanamoku Beach Classic. The team had as hard a starting lineup as anyone — facing No. 1 UCLA (5-0), No. 4 Pepperdine (3-1), No. 5 Hawai’i (2-2) and Saint Mary’s (1-3)
Stanford beach volleyball (0-0) begins its season tomorrow in Hawaii at the Outrigger Duke Kahanamoku Beach Classic. At the Classic, the preseason No. 11 Cardinal will have the opportunity to play against a few of the best teams in the nation.

No. 12 ranked Stanford beach volleyball (16-11, 7-4) very nearly knocked off their rivals, No. 13 Cal (21-6, 4-4) at the Big Spike in Berkeley. Despite falling to an 0-2 start during Saturday’s competition and quickly losing two matches, the team battled back to tie the match before narrowly losing the clinching game at the No. 1 spot.
Stanford beach volleyball ended its season on Thursday at the Pac-12 Conference Championships after falling 3-2 to Arizona in the elimination round.
