Band Run is a Stanford tradition in which the Leland Stanford Junior University Marching Band picks up freshmen and staff from dorms across campus, running from dorm to dorm. On Sunday, June 28, a couple of miscreant Stanford Daily interns planned to catch the 9:34 a.m. Caltrain from Menlo Park.
At around 12:30 p.m., a fire emerged in Lake Lagunita, according to emergency alerts sent out to the Stanford community. The nearby dorms Narnia and Enchanted Broccoli Forest (EBF) were evacuated for precautionary purposes by the Palo Alto Fire Department.
The San Jose Earthquakes defeated the Los Angeles Galaxy 3-1 at Stanford Stadium on June 28th, in front of a sold out crowd of over 50,000 people. The game represented the latest installment of the California Clásico, a north-south rivalry between the two MLS teams that has existed since 1996.
