Stanford football (5-3, 3-3 Pac-12) will try to grab its first home win since Sept. 17 when the struggling Oregon State Beavers (2-6, 1-4 Pac-12) enter Stanford Stadium on Saturday. The contest provides an opportunity for Shaw and co. to clinch their sixth consecutive bowl berth and Stanford’s eighth, if the Cardinal successfully defeat the Beavers.
Two injury-plagued teams will look to move a step closer to getting their seasons back on track Saturday, as Stanford (4-3, 2-3 Pac-12) travels to Tucson to face Arizona (2-5, 0-4).
At the beginning of the 2016 college football season, Stanford vs. Colorado appeared destined to be a romp, a chance for the Cardinal to take a well-deserved break from facing more worthy competition like UCLA, Washington and Notre Dame. After all, Stanford has outscored the Buffaloes 138-17 in their only three meetings as members of the Pac-12, and the 4-9 Buffs of last season offered no reason to think differently.
