No. 7 Stanford women's basketball opened their unofficial season in a 87-36 blowout against the Vanguard Lions Thursday evening in Maples Pavilion for their preseason exhibition. Having lost only two seniors from last season, the team’s depth combined with fresh talent, including twin freshmen Lacie and Lexi Hull, will make for a tenacious season. Lexi led the team in total points, scoring 11 in her first game with Stanford.
Sophomore Catarina Macario is on a roll, scoring No. 1 Stanford’s (15-0-1) two goals in their victory on the road against the Washington Huskies (7-9-1) on Thursday, winning their 38th consecutive game at 2-0. Macario scored two goals for Stanford in their prior game against Colorado.
On Sunday afternoon, No. 1 Stanford women’s soccer won 7-0 (14-0-1), knocking the No. 15 Colorado Buffaloes from their undefeated season and continuing their own, 37-game unbeaten streak. Now, the remaining unbeaten teams in the nation are just Stanford and Georgetown.
