On Tuesday, Elise Clougherty ’13 filed a civil suit against Palantir co-founder Joe Lonsdale ’04 for sexual assault and several other charges. Clougherty alleged that Lonsdale initiated an abusive relationship through his mentorship for a Stanford class on entrepreneurship. Lonsdale denied the claims in a personal statement, calling them “a malicious campaign of lies,” and intends to file a countersuit for defamation. A sophomore gave their thoughts on the lessons learned from the alleged rape committed by swimmer Brock Turner. The Sigma Nu fraternity is hosting four speaker events to encourage engagement with gender issues. Stanford men’s basketball cruised to a win at Washington.
