BOSP: Beijing req change not permanent

Feb. 2, 2010, 10:52 a.m.

Lee Dukes of the Bing Overseas Studies Program said today that the elimination of the Beijing language requirement for fall 2010 “is not going to be a permanent thing as of right now.”

The program announced the change yesterday on its Web site, The Daily reported.

According to BOSP, the spring quarter 2010-2011 program will still require students to have taken CHINLANG 2; for fall quarter 2011-12, participants will have had to take CHINLANG 3.

The fall quarter ease “is definitely something we’re trying out to see what happens,” said Dukes, BOSP’s student relations specialist. “I think it might be just to make it more accessible to students at this time.”
