The Stanford softball team will try to continue its winning ways against the Oregon State Beavers this weekend on the Farm after securing a series win against UCLA down in Los Angeles last weekend.
Senior pitcher Ashley Chinn took a shutout into the seventh and freshman left fielder Corey Hanewich hit a decisive base-clearing double as the No. 13 Stanford softball team downed visiting San Jose State at Smith Family Stadium yesterday.
The Cardinal (12-3) will play five games over the three-day weekend, with doubleheaders on Friday and Saturday. Stanford will square off against Southern Mississippi and Iowa on Friday, UC-Santa Barbara and Murray State on Saturday, then finish up against Cal State Northridge on Sunday.
The No. 16 Cardinal (8-2) hosts a tournament that includes No. 24 Kentucky, Colorado State, Memphis, North Dakota State and UC Davis.
