The No. 10 Stanford men’s volleyball team (12-7, 9-7 MPSF) made a statement this weekend in Southern California, knocking off two top-10 opponents in impressive performances. The Cardinal defeated No. 4 Pepperdine in four sets in Malibu on Friday and then went on to sweep No. 6 USC on Sunday for the team’s first win in the Galen Center since 2010. With the two wins, Stanford has returned to the middle of the MPSF standings heading into the final month of conference play.
The No. 8 Stanford men’s volleyball team took to the road this past weekend, returning home with a 1-1 record for the trip after facing No. 5 Long Beach State on Friday and Cal State Northridge on Saturday. The Cardinal lost in four sets to Long Beach State but managed to rally and come back to beat Cal State Northridge in three straight sets. Stanford is now 10-7 overall and 7-7 in the MPSF.

Though No. 8 Stanford men’s volleyball team knew that Friday’s match against No. 4 BYU would be one of its toughest of the season, confidence was not a question going in. The team was riding a season-long, four-match winning streak — not only getting the results, but also dominating its opponents, not having lost a single set over the streak.
Stanford men’s volleyball had an impressive weekend, decisively winning two critical matches at home. After struggling on the road, Stanford has been regaining its momentum, fighting its way back towards the top of the national rankings and finding its place in the MPSF. The No. 7 ranked Cardinal is now 7-4 overall and 4-4 in the MPSF after sweeping both UC San Diego and defending national champion UC-Irvine.
No. 7 Stanford men’s volleyball (4-3, 1-3 MPSF) is finally returning home this weekend and will be welcoming Maples Pavilion and its undefeated home record with open arms. After a strenuous and disappointing two weeks on the road in which the Cardinal lost three very close matches, Stanford will face No. 6 Long Beach State (4-3, 3-3) on Friday and No. 13 Cal State Northridge (2-3, 2-2) on Saturday.
