The Faculty Senate heard reports from both Vice Provost of Undergraduate Education Harry Elam and the Emeriti Council on Thursday afternoon, in the body’s final meeting of the academic year.

The Bing Stanford in Washington Program (SIW) will offer a new track focused on visual arts, arts administration and theater and performance starting in winter quarter of 2014.

Stanford in Washington students hunkered down in the program’s Bass Center as Hurricane Sandy approached Monday, spending the day playing Risk, watching movies and catching up on homework.
The University may soon develop a “Stanford in the Bay Area” program modeled after the current Stanford in Washington program, if the Faculty Senate votes favorably in March on the recommendations of the Study of Undergraduate Education at Stanford (SUES) report released in January.
