Graduates of the Stanford Graduate School of Business (GSB) have enjoyed consistently increasing average base salaries for the past three years, according to GSB reports. During the same time period, however, the range of starting salaries has decreased.
Students stressed by the $50,000 plus required to attend Stanford may be surprised to learn that President John Hennessy makes over 14 times that amount each year in base salary alone.
Stanford recently announced a staff salary program to be implemented this September to reinstate merit-based pay raises after a salary freeze last year during the economic downturn.
Amid questions about the ASSU finances at Tuesday’s Undergraduate Senate meeting, Senator Alex Katz ’12 proposed to do away with many of the ASSU’s salaried positions, suggesting that salaries for many ASSU staffers and elected officials is indulgent, if not hypocritical.
