Do or die for men’s basketball at Pac-12 Tournament

Stanford men’s basketball started the season by winning four games in a row, and it will have to repeat that win streak again in order to keep the season alive. The Cardinal travels to Las Vegas this week for the Pac-12 Tournament, where it will face Arizona State in the first round on Wednesday. To bring home the title and receive the automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament, Stanford needs to win four games in four days, with the championship game scheduled for Saturday night.

Beyda: Pac-12 tournament attendance rate to remain low

Interest in basketball across the Pac-12 conference is down because none of its teams seem to be a threat on the national level, and until the Pac-12 reestablishes itself as a premier conference there’s not much you can do to fill Staples Center, or any other venue for that matter. If anything, the stakes are higher in the Pac-12 Tournament this year with so many teams fighting for at-large bids to the Big Dance, but fans still aren’t flocking to L.A. for the four days of games.
