Admins consolidate ‘pre-college’ programs

Earlier this month, the University announced the formation of a new administrative unit called Stanford Pre-Collegiate Studies (SPCS), which will bring all of Stanford’s pre-college educational programs into one department. SPCS, currently comprised of six on-campus organizations, will exist under the umbrella of Stanford Continuing Studies (SCS).

The Stanford Online High School (OHS), previously called the Education Program for Gifted Youth (EPGY), was established in 2006 and currently serves more than 400 students, including both full- and part-time students.

Summer Housing revenue used to subsidize student costs

Every summer, Stanford Conferences hosts between 250 and 300 conferences on campus with a total of between 16,000 and 20,000 guests. These conferences cover a broad spectrum of subjects and audiences of nearly all ages. All Residential & Dining Enterprises (R&DE) revenue generated from summer conferences hosted on campus is used to subsidize the cost of room and board for students during the rest of the year, according to University officials.
