Cheri Steinkellner, winner of four Emmys and three Golden Globes, spoke at Meyer Library on Monday evening, discussing her experiences as the writer for the sitcom “Cheers” as well as the intricacies of writing for television and her life and career as a writer.

Zubair Ahmed’11 M.A.’13 began working on his book of poetry during his sophomore year at Stanford. He found that writing allowed him to escape the rigors of his mechanical engineering work.
This year marks the 50th anniversary of Stanford’s Creative Writing Program and the 67th anniversary of the Wallace Stegner Fellowship, the second-oldest fellowship of its kind in the country.
There are other efforts to not only save the study but also to halt the house’s demolition entirely. The National Trust for Historic Preservation wrote to Debbie Pedro, planning director for Los Altos Hills, arguing the study should be designated a historic site and to request a California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) review of the site. This review examines both the environmental implications of a demolition and the site’s historical significance.
